Sales Policies
Please read this page in its entirety before purchasing an animal from us! By purchasing an animal from us, it is assumed that you have read and agree to these policies in their entirety.
Because of our location and limited space, many favorite kids will be for sale. Please feel free to contact us, and let me know what does you may be interested in, and we will put you on the reservation list! Reservations are FREE for kids!
Once the kids are born, you will be notified within 24 hours if your reservation was filled, and you have an additional 24 hours from the time you were notified to send a $100 NON REFUNDABLE deposit for that goat. Deposits are accepted via paypal FRIENDS AND FAMILY, Venmo FRIENDS AND FAMILY, cash, or check. PayPal, Venmo, or cash is preferred. If you send your deposit, or any payment to us through Goods and Services, and do not add on additional $ to cover a fee, and a fee is added on, we will send it back and it will need to be resent via Friends and Family.
Once a deposit is made, it is non-refundable, and non-transferable from goat to goat. If for some reason that kid becomes unavailable due to medical issues, or deemed by Meander Mtn to be non-show quality, your deposit can be transferred to a different kid, or be returned to you. If you have a reservation on a buck, and Meander Mtn does not believe he should be a buck, Meander Mtn holds the right to withhold the sale of ANY buck at ANY time. We will only sell bucks that we believe portray the best of the breed traits, and only bucks that we would keep for our herd.
A $100 deposit on an adult animal will hold that animal for 2 weeks. After that time a boarding fee of $5 per day will apply until 30 days If at 30 days no pickup arrangements have been made, the deposit will be forfeit, and the animal will be put back up for sale. Special arrangements can be made for a time extension, but must be pre-approved, and a date set before the 30 day period ends.
Kids can leave the farm at 4 weeks on a bottle, or be sold at 10 weeks once weaned. There is no additional boarding fee for kids under 10 weeks of age, but after they reach 10 weeks, a boarding fee of $5 per day will apply. If you are purchasing more than one kid, the boarding fee CAN be waived for the older kid, if the younger kid is under 10 weeks, ONLY if pre-approved by Meander Mtn.
PLEASE DO NOT place a reservation on a breeding if you are looking for color, or blue eyes. I DO NOT breed for color, moonspots, or blue eyes. Conformation and production are our goals - not color.
All goats over 6 months of age are tested at least annually for CAE & CL, and Jones. Any additional testing may be done prior to sale at the buyer's expense.
We DO NOT take responsibility for the health or wellbeing of a goat, after they have left the farm. ALL goats leaving the farm will be up to date on shots, and worming, and are presumably healthy. We encourage ALL buyers to do a pre-purchase exam, performed by a vet before the animal leaves the farm, if they are worried about the health of the animal. We do not guarantee the conformation or milk production of any goat sold. A HUGE part of conformation, milk production and size in goats is influenced by environmental factors such as proper feeding, worming, and medical care.
If an animal is being shipped, the buyer is responsible for all related shipping costs: crate, health certificate, and a $75 dollar fee to drop the animal off at the Airport. All air shipping is done from LAX, and the animal and shipping must be paid for before leaving the farm.
Health Certificates are $100
If a doe was bred on our farm prior to sale, her kids will carry the Meander Mtn herd name. Meander Mtn reserves the right to name any registered goat bred by us. We do not offer our bucks for outside breeding services for Bio Security reasons, but a doe of breeding age, being purchased from us, can be bred before leaving the farm for a fee.
Kids are disbudded, tattooed and are up to date on shots before leaving our farm.
Absolutely NO goats will be sold to live as a single goat, or be sold for meat. Goats are naturally herd animals and need companionship of other. We might have wethers available to live as a companion if you are purchasing your first goat from us!
Please contact me with any additional questions. The information above can be edited, modified, or corrected at any time, so please inquire as to any changes before purchasing a goat! Have fun shopping, and please shoot us a message with any questions or concerns!!!

Right of First Refusal
-
Right of First Refusal on Rehoming: Buyer agrees that if they intend to sell, transfer, give away, lease, or otherwise rehome any animal purchased from Seller, they must first offer Seller the option to repurchase the animal at fair market value. For purposes of this contract, “rehoming” is defined as the movement of the animal to any other party for more than temporary boarding or housing for breeding purposes.
-
Special Terms for Bucks: If Buyer offers any buck purchased from Seller for public lease, Buyer must first offer this lease option to Seller. Private leases of a buck to friends or non-commercial associates are exempt from this requirement, provided they do not involve public listing or advertisement.
-
-
Fair Market Value: Fair market value shall be determined based on the most recent comparable sale prices for goats of similar age, pedigree, health, and achievements within [specific breed or association] standards. In the event of a dispute, fair market value shall be assessed by a mutually agreed-upon third-party appraiser.
-
Notification Requirement: Buyer must notify Seller in writing of any intention to sell, transfer, give away, lease, or otherwise rehome the animal, providing all relevant terms, conditions, and details of the proposed transaction. Seller shall have 10 business days from the receipt of this written notice to accept the option to repurchase the animal or lease the buck under the proposed terms.
-
Penalty for Non-Compliance: Should Buyer fail to adhere to this Right of First Refusal requirement—by selling, transferring, giving away, leasing, or otherwise rehoming the animal without first offering it to Seller or by failing to provide the repurchase or lease option as outlined above—Buyer agrees to pay a penalty of $5,000 or twice the fair market value of the animal, whichever is greater, as liquidated damages to Seller.
-
Enforcement of Terms: Buyer acknowledges that this Right of First Refusal and penalty clause is legally enforceable. Seller may take legal action to collect liquidated damages, in addition to any costs incurred in enforcing this provision, including attorney’s fees and court costs.
-
Governing Law: This contract shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any legal action must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California.
