Our Reason for Breedin'

Welcome to our happy herd in sunny Ventura County, California! At Meander Mountain Dairy Goats, we strive to raise and breed quality animals, that can contribute to the advancement of the Nigerian Dwarf breed.  What started out as a mentorship under Rebecca at PaxsonKdz Nigerian Dwarf Goats in 2018, has quickly become a strong herd of milking does, with foundation lines built from Old School Alethia, Algedi, Urban Acres and Rosasharn.

Meander Mtn was given the PaxsonKdz herd in 2024 and has decided to take it as far as we can go and then some!!! We will be participating in fairs, shows, LA, and 305 milk test in 2025, and do not plan on ever stopping. Rebecca is our neighbor & friend, and is still very active in the development of our genetics and program. We know we have something special for everyone here at our farm, and genetics that every herd in the country would be proud to have in their milk parlor and show string. We adhere to strict biosecurity measures and blood test our herd at least yearly. We enjoy our own delicious raw goat milk daily, and enjoy making various goat milk products for fun during our free time!

Because our herd lives at our house in Southern California, we have a limited capacity, so we keep very high standards for our kids. We strive to raise happy and healthy goats, that excel in the milk pail and show ring. Our goats will participate in shows on a national level, proudly following in the footsteps of Rebecca & PaxsonKdz.

We LOVE talking goats, so feel free to send us an email, Instagram, or Facebook message, and see if any of our kids can find a place in your herd and most importantly, your heart! Keep up with us and enjoy behind the scenes photos from our farm by following along on any of our social media platforms. We can't wait to hear from you and we hope to see you at ADGA NATIONALS in 2025!

Meet the Me Behind Meander Mountain Farm

Hayley the Hippie Goat Mama Milkmaid

Hi! Thank you for your interest in my herd and my program! I am so happy you're here.

While it’s true that most of my life revolves around the herd, dairy, & raw milk, I do enjoy one or two other things as well.

When i’m not with the goats, I am usually with my horse, Alana. I rescued her as a birthday present to myself on 2/2/16 after she chose me, literally stopping in front of me in a huge 40 acre pasture - after I drove 4 hours to buy a saddle off of facebook marketplace in Mariposa - where she had been abandoned seven years prior and cared for by the property owners. She had cancer in her eyelid and I had her eye removed in 2019. You can catch us riding bareback through the Santa Monica mountains, aka the backyard of our neighborhood! Our other favorite activity to do together is jumping in our neighborhood jumping arena. I just usually have to give her a squeeze to let her know when to jump because her depth perception is less than ideal - haha.

We moved to our farm in 2022 after I boarded my goats in this same neighborhood for years, waiting for and dreaming of the day that I could have my very own farm. I am blessed to work-from-farm, caring for many of my equestrian neighbor’s barns and animals. Because of this, I am able to be home with the goats much of the time and milk 365 days per year. In fact, I haven’t missed a single day of milking in close to two years! This farm is my vacation, and there is no where else I’d rather be than right here, in my little raw milk parlor, milking my gorgeous, sweet goats.

I am an absolute coffee addict, and even have my own drink named after me at my local coffee shop called the Hippie Goat!

I am older than I look, turning 34 on New Year’s Day '25, and very enthusiastic about moving from  a dairy focus, since 2018, to an ADGA show, LA, and 305 milk test focus starting in 2024. I am already very proud of the relationships I’ve made and all of the information I have crammed into my brain in such a short time! I am so grateful for the mentors that have made all of this possible.

Thanks for welcoming me to the ADGA world with such kind, open arms. I could not be happier to be exactly where I am doing exactly what I’m doing.
